KVS Manian Appointed as New Managing Director & CEO of Federal Bank
Federal Bank has announced the appointment of KVS Manian as its new Managing Director & CEO, effective from September 23, 2024. Manian takes over the role from Shyam Srinivasan, whose tenure concludes on September 22, 2024.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the banking sector, KVS Manian brings a wealth of experience to Federal Bank. Prior to this, he was Joint Managing Director at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he played a key role in its transformation from a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) to one of India’s leading private sector banks. During his time at Kotak, Manian oversaw the Corporate, Institutional, and Investment Banking segments, as well as Wealth Management, driving significant growth in profitability and asset quality. Under his leadership, these divisions emerged as leading franchises in the banking sector.
Manian holds an electrical engineering degree from IIT (BHU) Varanasi, a postgraduate qualification in Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and is a certified Cost and Works Accountant.
Federal Bank expressed confidence in Manian’s ability to lead the organization to new heights, citing his strong leadership and industry expertise. The Reserve Bank of India approved his appointment for a three-year term in July, and the bank is optimistic about the future under his guidance.
Federal Bank, in a statement, said, "We are excited to welcome Mr. KVS Manian and look forward to a successful journey ahead under his visionary leadership."
Manian's appointment marks a new chapter for Federal Bank, as he takes the helm from Srinivasan, who has served as MD & CEO since 2010.
