Bitget Wallet Launches OmniConnect SDK for Telegram Mini-Apps

Bitget Wallet a non-custodial multi-chain crypto wallet has announced the launch of its OmniConnect SDK designed to enable developers within the Telegram ecosystem to connect mini-apps with over 500 blockchains including Solana TON and EVM-compatible chains.

The OmniConnect SDK will allow these mini-apps to sign operations and execute transactions across multiple blockchain networks enhancing their interoperability. Previously Telegram mini-apps were limited to interacting solely with The Open Network (TON) making cross-chain engagement challenging. Bitget’s new SDK aims to bridge this gap facilitating seamless multi-chain interactions.

Bitget Wallet’s Chief Operating Officer Alvin Kan stated that the innovation aligns with the company’s vision to introduce a billion users from social platforms into Web3. He emphasized that OmniConnect will transform Telegram into a significant portal for Web3 applications and facilitate the transition from traditional Web2 ecosystems to decentralized Web3 environments.

Kan further explained that developers and ecosystems will be able to collaborate in creating a more open Web3 environment on Telegram. Additionally Bitget Wallet plans to expand the OmniConnect SDK beyond Telegram mini-apps to include browser plugins Web/H5 interfaces and mobile applications in the future.

The push for cross-chain functionality has been a significant challenge for decentralized protocols and platforms. This feature has become a focal point of innovation within the Web3 community. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has addressed interoperability challenges in the Ethereum ecosystem envisioning solutions that could enhance user experience across various blockchain layers.

Coinbase co-founder Brian Armstrong echoed the importance of interoperability solutions in addressing user experience issues related to bridging and Layer 2 fragmentation. On September 18th 1inch Network introduced a feature called "Fusion+" which facilitates cross-chain swaps while allowing users to maintain custody of their digital assets. This feature utilizes atomic swap technology to ensure that if a swap fails the funds will be redirected back to the owner.
