Beijing E-Town Showcases Cutting-Edge Innovations at 2024 International Fair for Trade in Services

Beijing E-Town made a significant impression at the 2024 Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services with a striking exhibition area featuring advanced technology. Visitors were welcomed by a captivating naked-eye 3D screen displaying Tiangong robots in action alongside Xiaomi’s SU7, radiating a futuristic atmosphere. Outside the main exhibition space, the New Stone Unmanned Vehicles, which are employed in smart scenic areas and universities, and China’s first certified AI-powered food service robot, already operational in key commercial buildings within Beijing E-Town, drew considerable interest from attendees eager to explore these technological innovations.

As the central hub for high-tech industries in the capital, Beijing E-Town is bolstered by its “44637” development strategy, which emphasizes four key industries: next-generation information technology, high-end automobiles and new energy vehicles, biotechnology and health, and robotics and intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, the area is rapidly expanding into six emerging industries, fostering a vibrant environment for innovative technologies.

At the exhibition, various “E-Town Smart Innovations” highlighted the region’s dynamic growth potential, inviting visitors to engage in interactive experiences. One staff member expressed, “We want our guests to feel the energy and potential of this place, showcasing Beijing E-Town as a lively, welcoming city that attracts people from all over.”

Xiaomi’s SU7 became a popular attraction, with long lines forming for test rides. Since its launch in March, the Xiaomi SU7 has emerged as a key player in Beijing E-Town’s automotive supply chain. The Xiaomi Auto Factory in the area has transformed into a fully operational “smart manufacturing factory,” producing over 10,000 vehicles monthly for three consecutive months.

In another section of the exhibition, the ROPA® AI orthopedic surgery robot demonstrated a simulated knee replacement surgery. A representative from Longwood Valley MedTech explained, “The ROPA® combines ‘smart brain, smart hands, and smart eyes’ to mimic the skills of a seasoned orthopedic surgeon, executing tailored surgical plans developed through artificial intelligence.” The integration of AIJOINT® 3D surgical simulation software into ROPA® marks a significant advancement in orthopedic AI and surgical robotics. This innovation has received a Class III medical device registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration and FDA certification, and it has been recognized as an “internationally leading innovation” by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Moreover, multifunctional integrated poles, which incorporate lighting, traffic indicators, autonomous driving technology, and more, are essential components of smart city infrastructure. The Jielong-3 rocket model, notable for being China’s first sea-launched rocket, was also on display.

The exhibition offered a glimpse into the future of technology while taking visitors on a journey through the past 30 years of Beijing E-Town’s development. An immersive “time tunnel” showcased the area’s journey of innovation and partnership with various enterprises, highlighting collaborations that have spanned decades with companies like TPV Technology, JD.com, and GE Healthcare.

Zhou Xiaobin, general manager of Qingdao Boruike 3D Manufacturing Co., Ltd., expressed enthusiasm after visiting the exhibition, stating, “Seeing the advancements in surgical robotics and aerospace technology aligns perfectly with our 3D printing business. We are considering establishing a base in E-Town.”

Beijing E-Town continues to showcase its innovative accomplishments and opportunities for development, reinforcing its appeal as a world-class industrial city. The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area is home to over 90,000 businesses, including nearly 1,300 foreign-invested enterprises from over 60 countries. Notably, 103 Fortune 500 companies have established 158 projects in the region.
