Vitalik Buterin Introduces The Surge Roadmap for Ethereum Layer 2 Development

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled an ambitious new roadmap known as “The Surge” aimed at advancing the network's capabilities. In a detailed blog post on October 17th Buterin outlined the roadmap’s primary goals which include enhancing Ethereum's transaction capacity to exceed 100,000 transactions per second (TPS) while upholding the principles of decentralization and security that are fundamental to the network.

The Surge represents the next significant phase in Ethereum's evolution building on the current rollup-centric strategy that has been in place.
